Council approves community projects, grants small business electrical work at Community Center

Council approved two community proposals on March 11: an Eagle Scout project by Dylan Varner to build wooden kiosks in the Borough recreation area, and a request from Ryan German of Modern Gent Hat Company to install a new electrical circuit in Room 205 of the Myerstown Community Center to support screen‑printing equipment.

Dylan Varner’s Eagle Scout proposal was approved "subject to compliance with all applicable Borough regulations and oversight by the Public Works Supervisor," and will proceed under the supervision of borough staff. Ryan German thanked the Council "for the opportunity to have leased space in the building" and the Council agreed to allow installation of an additional electrical circuit and outlets, with the company reimbursing the Borough for any costs incurred (motion by Bryan L. Rittle; second by Stacey A. Hackman).

Separately, Council discussed a proposal from Creekside Improvements LLC to replace pool bathroom stall panels; that item was tabled for action at a later meeting so that staff can present specifications and costs.
