Board hears Evergreen Elementary construction is on schedule; GMP 3 to be presented next meeting

The board received a construction update on Evergreen Elementary noting steady progress and tight schedule monitoring. Presenter (speaker 6) said, "The project is moving along extraordinarily well," listing poured footings, on-site prefabrication of walls and three executed contract amendments. He told the board GMP 3, which will encompass the entire project budget under progressive design-build, will be presented at the next board meeting.

Superintendent Dr. Wenzel tied the schedule to occupancy planning and risk management, warning the board about limited float in the timeline: "So with the July 21 occupancy it allows us about 3 weeks right before everybody arrives..." (clarified in discussion as July 27). Board members pressed for design details, and the presenter said 90% construction documents were expected Oct. 19 with 100% documents to follow, and that the design capacity is expected to accommodate about 600 students. The district emphasized commissioning before and during occupancy and that long-lead items have already been purchased to reduce risk.

The board will see GMP 3 at a future meeting; the project team said they will continue to monitor schedule and weather risks and report back as procurement and buyouts proceed.
