Evergreen Elementary on track; GMP 3 to be presented at next meeting

A district project presenter told the board that construction of Evergreen Elementary is progressing well and remains tightly scheduled. "The project is moving along extraordinarily well," the presenter said, describing poured footings, form work in place and plans to prefabricate walls on site. He added, "We have executed 3 contract amendments" and said the district will present GMP 3, which will encompass the entire project budget, at the next board meeting.

Board members asked about design details and commissioning before occupancy. The presenter noted milestones: 90% construction documents targeted for Oct. 19 and 100% construction documents anticipated in mid–late December, with the team working on buyouts and long‑lead procurement. Superintendent Dr. Wenzel and other board members emphasized monitoring schedule risk—staff noted the occupancy target and that the schedule includes limited float, which increases sensitivity to weather or other delays. The board agreed to continue oversight as GMP 3 and final budget details are prepared for the next meeting.
