Resident says city process failed to resolve months‑long nuisance dog barking

Kenneth Valier, a Buckeye resident and teacher, described persistent nuisance barking from a neighbor's dog that he says has lasted several years and escalated recently. He said he filed a notarized petition signed by 14 neighbors on April 13 and met officers but did not receive follow‑up from the prosecutor's office for five months: "To go 5 months with 0 acknowledgment suggests a nonexistent process," he said, and asked that the prosecutor "own the process from cradle to grave" to protect residents' quality of life.

Valier said previous enforcement over time had led to citations in other cases, but that recent complaints resulted only in drive‑bys or messages that the officers did not witness the barking; he urged the council to appoint someone to remove obstacles and improve timeliness in responding to noisy‑animal complaints so neighbors do not suffer ongoing sleep and health impacts.
