City lists waterfront resiliency, downtown revitalization and multiple delayed projects

Deputy City Manager Jeremiah Delson presented a project management worksheet that uses a red/yellow/green system to flag progress on the city's top tier projects. "Think of green as on task ... red, we're at a stopping point until we can sort out funding issues," Delson said as he reviewed drainage, beach harmonization, downtown revitalization, fire station remodeling and the MLK softball complex.

Delson said Area 6 drainage is grant‑funded but paused pending resource availability and that several projects are tied together (for example, waterfront work and related parking impacts). He said the marina fuel tank replacement is out to bid with results expected at the end of the week and that the city filed a state grant extension to continue waterfront park design, noting that approximately $2,000,000 would be available for construction if the extension is approved. Commissioners thanked staff for the visual tracker and asked that the waterfront project list be broken out separately in future briefings.
