Allamakee supervisors adopt FY27 budget amendment, appropriations resolution to fund solid-waste needs

The Allamakee County Board of Supervisors adopted a FY27 budget amendment and an accompanying appropriations resolution during its Aug. 31 meeting after a brief public hearing. Auditor Denise Beyer reviewed the amendment, saying it addressed the Solid Waste garbage truck need.

"Auditor Beyer reviewed the amendment for Solid Waste garbage truck," the minutes state. The board first opened the public hearing (Motion 26.297), then closed it (26.298) and adopted the amendment (26.299). The board followed by adopting Appropriation Resolution #26.300, citing Section 331.434 of the Code of Iowa and related statutory provisions governing county appropriations; the roll call on the appropriations resolution was Keatley—aye; Byrnes—aye; Clark—aye.

The county financial summary included a Solid Waste line showing $245,467 in the fund totals. The appropriations resolution directs the Auditor to establish accounts that will track appropriations, charges and unencumbered balances and notes that appropriations lapse at the close of business on June 30, 2027. Auditor Beyer will report account status monthly to departments during FY27.
