TRC conditionally approves Golding Residence development order on Highway 20

The Walton County Technical Review Committee on Sept. 2 conditionally approved a minor development order for the Golding Residence (Project MIN26000067), a proposal to build a single‑family home on about 1.8 acres along State Highway 20.

Planner Rhianna presented the staff report and confirmed no public comment was received. Rhianna noted that an environmental review had been submitted since the staff report and that some environmental items remained outstanding but that GIS review showed the submission in compliance. Applicant Gary McCarty of North Star Engineering told the committee that "we've submitted the sidewalk, exemption request... we've provided the stormwater calculations for this," and that staff comments had been addressed. McCarty asked for approval or conditional approval based on final staff acceptance.

The committee moved and unanimously approved conditional approval, with the Chair stating the approval is contingent on all outstanding staff comments being satisfactorily addressed before the development order is finalized. The committee recorded that final items — including environmental and any remaining labeling or layout changes — must be resolved before construction begins.
