Commissioners authorize ambulance power loads and cots purchase using prior‑year funds

Chief Jeffrey Bushnell asked the board to authorize purchasing ambulance power-loads and cots and to use previously allocated stipend and capital project funds rather than initiating new medium-term financing. Bushnell said $166,000 in augmented stipend funds from the prior fiscal year remained unspent and could be reallocated to cover the purchases.

Bushnell said reallocation of those funds would prevent new borrowing or additional interest obligations and would maintain compliance with prior board approvals pending clarification from the Department of Taxation. Judge Danielle Johnson noted a fund-code correction was needed (capital-project fund number should end in 50 not 53) and asked staff to ensure the correct code is used. Commissioners approved the reallocation to complete the purchase and directed the purchase to be charged to the Emergency Services Fund augmentation (account noted in the meeting).
