Evergreen Elementary project reported ahead of schedule; GMP 3 to be presented next meeting

A district construction presenter provided an upbeat update on Evergreen Elementary, saying site work is complete and crews have poured footings and installed utilities and sidewalks. "The project is moving along extraordinarily well," the presenter said, noting prefabrication of walls and plans to start floor pours as early as next week.

The presenter said the team has executed three contract amendments and two GMPs, and that GMP 3, which will encompass the full project budget under progressive design‑build, will be presented at the next board meeting. He explained OSPI requires documentation of a constructability review and a value‑engineering report even under the progressive design‑build delivery. The board and superintendent discussed schedule risk, a tight occupancy target in late July, and monitoring strategies; the superintendent noted the district is "pushing on risk" and planning move‑ins so the facility "pops" for students and families.
