Commission presses staff on keeping fee figures current in SOP materials

During discussion of the proposed SOP materials, commissioners warned that including static dollar amounts in printed flowcharts would quickly lead to outdated guidance unless fees were actively maintained. Melissa said she liked seeing the dollar amounts but asked how the commission would ensure they stayed current.

"Most likely will [change]," Melissa said about fee figures and asked what safeguards would be put in place. Aaron proposed two approaches: an annual review to revisit the material and a separate fee sheet that can be swapped out without reworking the flowcharts. Brad, an attendee who had his hand raised, suggested the city office itself should update the figures to keep everyone synchronized: "it should be up to our office. So, like, we're gonna be the ones that are gonna raise the fines or the fees." Aaron agreed to develop an approach for how fees appear in the materials and to coordinate with staff on implementation.
