Board approves students‑at‑risk plan and new policy limiting IEP recordings and AI use

The student services committee presented and the board approved the district's 2026–27 Students at Risk identification plan, which the committee said aligns with Wisconsin statute 118.153 and outlines identification, intervention and annual reevaluation processes for students at risk of not graduating. Committee members moved the plan forward with a committee vote and the board recorded a unanimous approval by roll call.

The committee also brought a replacement policy (listed in the meeting as policy 2461) governing recording of IEP team meetings. The revised policy restricts unauthorized use of transcription or AI tools, establishes parental notice requirements, gives administration authority to suspend disruptive sessions, and disclaims institutional liability for parent‑generated media storage or distribution. "According to Wisconsin state statute 118.153, This plan must be reviewed annually by the Board of Education," the presenter said during committee discussion. Both the plan and the replacement policy were approved by the board with roll call votes recorded in the meeting.
