Select Board approves $23,238 Adams Masonry contract for Town Hall repairs

Following engineering and structural reviews, the board considered masonry repairs at Town Hall and a quote from Adams Masonry LLC. The Chair moved: "I move to accept the proposal from Adams Masonry LLC to provide services relating to town hall renovations. Estimated the cost, $23,238." The motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.

Staff and committee members explained that Adams had inspected the building and submitted a conservative quote (they estimated three to four days but warned work could expand to two weeks once opened up). Members noted limited contractor availability during the season and discussed whether the situation could be treated as an emergency or sole-source procurement to maintain the renovation schedule; the board approved the contract and authorized the town administrator to finalize documents.

The board indicated the work is intended to keep the project on schedule and to avoid delay of the scheduled liner and spray-foam work; the contract authorization includes execution authority for the town administrator to sign necessary documents.
