Public commenter asks about offline backups; IT outlines multi‑layer redundancy

During the public‑comment period Daryl Cook asked whether an outage at a major provider (Cook mentioned Amazon) would affect the borough's backups. William Mann responded that the borough maintains multiple redundancy layers: three virtual servers (active, mirror and a manager) that copy data every five minutes, on‑site appliances that back up camera and facility data, and off‑site backups managed by Datto plus cloud‑to‑cloud backups for cloud data.

Mann emphasized that the borough's backup architecture is designed to allow staff to "spin up our servers remotely" if the building is inaccessible and said the systems are intended to avoid disclosure of sensitive security details in a public forum. "We have several redundancy layers — if this building is inaccessible, we can spin up our servers remotely," he said.
