The Gainesville mayor and council met Dec. 17, 2024. Council approved a 141‑unit planned unit development (annexation and rezoning) on Thompson Bridge/Crystal Drive after a public hearing with neighbor opposition, and unanimously passed a package of routine resolutions and ordinance amendments including a $1,000,000 state SRF loan with 25% principal forgiveness and changes to board appointment/compensation rules.
