Pelham City Council held a public hearing and first reading on a request to rezone roughly 104 acres near Oak Mountain State Park for a 225-home residential garden-home development; residents raised traffic, schools, tree-clearing and drainage concerns. The council unanimously appointed Jonathan Seale as city clerk/treasurer and issued a proclamation naming January 2025 Human Trafficking Awareness and Prevention Month.
