Long Beach City Council met Nov. 6, 2024. Council heard a city manager report listing community events and a large uptick in CDBG funding, approved allocations and multiple budget amendments, accepted a three-year Department of Justice grant to partially fund an added detective and reconstitute a narcotics unit, approved a five-year snack-bar contract for the ice arena, and heard public comments on park construction, low-flying aircraft and fireworks.
