Florence Town Council held a special meeting on Dec. 16, 2024 to begin the process of filling a vacant council seat and approved a sole-source service contract for tertiary disc filters at the South wastewater treatment plant. Council directed the town clerk to solicit written statements from recent council members and set a Jan. 6, 2025 special meeting for consideration; the Kruger Inc. contract was approved by voice vote for up to $335,419.50.
