The Alachua County Local Planning Agency and Planning Commission met Nov. 20 to consider a special exception for the Flamingo Sports Center (an outdoor recreation facility with pickleball and tennis courts), updates to the county's capital improvements tables, and a comprehensive-plan text amendment to enable inclusionary housing incentives and density bonuses. The commission approved the Flamingo special exception with an added privacy-fence condition and recommended transmittal of both county-initiated plan amendments to state review after amending the urban-cluster affordability threshold.
