The Montezuma County Board of County Commissioners met Dec. 10, 2024 in Cortez. The board adopted an updated Emergency Operations Plan (Resolution 14-2024), approved a FEMA planning-grant application to update a county hazard mitigation plan, signed a memorandum of understanding with the Bureau of Land Management for the Lamb House Trail, approved a $20,000 cost-share reimbursement request for the county noxious-weed program, and approved three land-use actions including a 29-acre single-lot split and two minor subdivision/subdivision-amendment requests. Staff provided updates on mine reclamation and permit-related signage; a resident urged careful budgeting during public comment.
