The Windham School District Board of Trustees and the Texas Board of Criminal Justice met in Huntsville on Dec. 13, 2024. The Windham board recognized staff, reviewed the Texas Sunset Commission staff report and discussed transferring postsecondary oversight into Windham, spotlighted career and technical education including a new horseshoeing apprenticeship, and approved a revised 2025–2029 strategic plan. The Texas Board of Criminal Justice reconvened, heard recognitions and staff promotions, approved a broad package of regulatory amendments for public posting and several final adoptions (including an increase in system capacity of 2,084 beds), approved personnel directive revisions, authorized construction and facilities projects (including HVAC and ice-house work), and appointed Lance Coleman as the next inspector general.
