A three-judge Utah Court of Appeals panel heard oral argument in three criminal appeals: State v. Jones (Rule 23(b) remand questions about officer location and adaptive-headlight evidence), State v. Gross (challenge to pretrial detention and procedural mootness), and State v. Dupree (claims including a mistrial claim over officer testimony, Miranda discouragement and jury-instruction errors). The court indicated it will remand on the 23(b) issue in Jones and will issue written opinions on the other matters.
