Utah Court of Appeals heard oral arguments in three appeals: a child-welfare appeal over whether Rule 34(e) admissions can be withdrawn and when ineffective-assistance claims must be raised; a negligence appeal over a trial judges decision to overturn a jury verdict in a pedestrian crash; and an appeal challenging admission of other-acts evidence and sufficiency in a criminal conviction. The court took all matters under advisement.
