The Iron County Commission convened for a regular meeting in February 2025. After opening prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance, commissioners approved minutes and warrants, heard departmental reports (emergency management, clerk, fleet, HR, public defense, economic development, sheriff/public works), and ratified a BLM communications site lease. Department reports covered a submitted federal flood-mitigation grant request, continuing jail construction, a funded feasibility study for a possible county fire district, fleet procurement and auction strategies, rising HR turnover, ongoing economic development site visits, and a personnel/promotion discussion in public works focused on road maintenance staffing shortages. The commission took several routine votes and approved personnel items; it ratified the BLM lease for a Hamlin Valley repeater site intended to improve public-safety radio coverage.
