Lakewood City Council held a special meeting Jan. 13, 2025. The council opened with ceremonial proclamations and presentations (Lakewood 121 Day; Colfax Marathon; Love Lakewood Day), introduced a new community resources director, heard a block of initial public comments on topics including land concerns, tenant issues, renewable energy providers, and the recent Open Space Initiative, appointed a mayor pro tem, adopted ordinances updating rules for metropolitan districts and for car washes/fueling stations, approved an optional tour of permanent supportive housing sites, and the mayor asked council to direct staff to draft amendments to the recently adopted Open Space Initiative ordinance for expedited consideration.
