Mayor (Speaker 1) opened the meeting at 6:00 p.m., led the pledges and reviewed recent community events: WinterFest with TXGN Railroad (depot improvements, a Santa mailbox responding to letters through Christmas Eve), planned activities and decorations, and thanked volunteers and groups involved.
The Gonzales City Council held a regularly scheduled meeting in early December to approve consent items, reject an overbudget bridge bid, approve a ground lease to Gonzales Dog Adoptions, adopt several zoning and comprehensive-plan amendments for properties on Seidler and Saint Michael streets, and authorize the closing/abandonment of unimproved portions of Mesquite and Hackberry streets following closed session. Multiple public commenters addressed a proposed Dairy Queen parking expansion.
