The Senate City, County & Local Affairs Committee heard a long agenda including short bills on liquor-store merchandise and board/commission consolidation; debated three alcohol-related bills (logo sales by liquor stores, RFID self-dispensing technology, and raising allowable ABW for malt beverages in grocery stores); and conducted an extended hearing on Senate Bill 414 proposing changes to regional airport authorities and tax/annexation rules affecting XNA and the city of Highfill. Several bills failed on voice or roll-call votes; the airport bill generated heated testimony and was recessed for follow-up talks.
