The Senate Agriculture, Forestry & Economic Development committee reviewed fair-funding for county, district and state fairs, heard a resolution asking federal lawmakers to preserve farmland after solar leases, and held an extended hearing on bird disposal and depopulation related to Cooks Venture and avian influenza. Members heard testimony from the Department of Agriculture, fair managers, landowners and several poultry growers.
