Utah State Senate convened a special session on April 19, 2005, to consider a broad agenda including education (No Child Left Behind implementation), veterans nursing home funding, property tax and special district rules, tourism funding, a drug-offender reform pilot, and numerous gubernatorial appointments; the Senate confirmed dozens of appointees and passed multiple bills and amendments before adjourning to reconvene the next day.
