The Utah State Senate convened Jan. 24, 2000, opened with a prayer and a condolence announcement for Senator Bob Steiner’s family after the death of his wife in childbirth. The chamber considered committee reports, introduced and advanced numerous bills (including measures on electronic transactions and trauma system changes), voted on multiple measures and recessed until the afternoon before adjourning.
