President/Moderator called the meeting back into open session, a motion to reconvene was made (mover: Doctor Siddiqui; second: mister Edwards) and approved 4-0. The board led the Pledge of Allegiance.
The Elwood Union Free School District Board of Education met in a regularly scheduled session to recognize student achievements, receive academic and curriculum updates, consider a public hearing on the Smart Schools Bond plan, and discuss state-proposed regionalization regulations — ultimately agreeing to prepare an opposition letter before the NYSED comment deadline. The board also reviewed K–8 I Ready results, heard about a three-program ELA pilot, accepted donations, approved the consent agenda (including the Smart Schools Bond plan), and adopted several policies on second reading.
