San Francisco Police Commission reheard a proposal from the mayors Office of Criminal Justice to install a pilot network of community safety cameras at multiple high-crime intersections in the Mission, Tenderloin and other neighborhoods, heard extensive public comment both for and against the plan, and approved the pilot with conditions including required reports, limits on retention, and a policy to turn cameras off during permitted demonstrations.
