At a Feb. 25, 2009 San Francisco Police Commission community meeting at Saint Mary’s, faith leaders and neighborhood organizers described local community-police partnerships that they credit with reducing violence and urged the commission to prioritize cultural competence and compassion in the search for the city’s next police chief.
