At its March 11, 2009 regular meeting the San Francisco Police Commission debated two reports on (1) whether the city should hire its next police chief as a contract employee (PERF recommendations, severance, term, Board confirmation) and (2) whether to expand the police chiefs disciplinary authority beyond the current 10-day suspension limit, and adopted a revised hazardous materials response general order.
