The San Francisco Police Commission held a lengthy public hearing on whether to authorize conducted energy devices (CEDs or “tasers”) for SFPD officers. After expert testimony, budget analysis and hours of public comment, the commission voted 4–3 to approve adoption but delayed implementation until the departments revised use-of-force policy has been in effect for two years.
