The Utah County Board of Commissioners held a public hearing and extended deliberations on the countys proposed 2024 budget, after an auditors presentation that projected a roughly $10 million use of fund balance and slower revenue growth. Commissioners debated program cuts, vacancies to eliminate, funding for public defenders and jail medical staff, and agreed to continue the budget vote for one week to Dec. 13, 2023.
