Meeting called to order. A prayer was offered by Bert Garthville and Angela Lacey led the Pledge of Allegiance. Chair opened the meeting and introduced agenda items for the work session.
The Utah County Commission met June 19 to hear an annual USU Extension report, the county's first rolling five-year budget forecast (showing multi-million-dollar deficits and prompting discussion of truth-in-taxation), a quarterly Public Defender update documenting sharply higher caseloads and staffing requests, and to approve conduit financing for a Boys & Girls Club facility. Residents raised concerns during public comment about a proposed shooting range near West Mountain.
