Fire Chief Michael Connor presented the department's fleet: three Class A pumpers, one aerial, three squads/HAZMAT vehicles (some acquired by grant). He explained staffing (two staffed pumpers daily plus a reserve), mutual/automatic aid relationships, ISO scoring and operational constraints, and recent reliability problems: Engine 2 (1997) had brake/electrical issues and high hours; the department's 1996 aerial has been out of service since April because of leaking air brakes and failed pump tests. Coffeyville City Commission met Oct. 8, 2024. Staff presented a Fire Department fleet review and requested approval to buy a used aerial apparatus (approved). The commission held a CDBG public hearing on a proposed Feaster Park community center but took no motion on the grant application (resolution died). The commission approved a purchase order for a custom utility pole and advanced an annexation ordinance first reading. Several community announcements followed.
