Highlands County School Board opened its Aug. 18 meeting, heard facilities and safety updates ahead of the new school year, declared two properties surplus and approved an invitation to bid for their sale, approved personnel recommendations and a revised salary schedule, and set a special meeting on Sept. 3 to hear out-of-zone transfer appeals.
