The House Agriculture Committee heard and unanimously concurred in Senate Bill 414, a measure to prohibit packaging materials from being included in garbage fed to swine. Sponsor Senator Shane Morigeau said the bill is intended to “clean up” Montana law and reduce risks from microplastics and contaminants; the state veterinarian testified about disease and packaging risks and committee approved the bill 17-0 by voice vote.
