The Athens Armory, built in 1914 and acquired by the City of Athens in 1997, serves as a cornerstone of the north end of Uptown Athens. Throughout its life, the Armory has served our country and community as a critical asset to national defense and a gathering place to a number of local civic organizations. After falling into disrepair the Armory was largely unused for several decades. Thanks to the work of many members of the Athens community and funding from a variety of partners, the newly renovated Armory will continue to be an anchor for Athens for a century to come.
