The Texas Senate met, heard an accusation from Sen. Charles Perry that Sen. Carol Alvarado used a campaign email to promote a filibuster as a fundraising event, adopted a motion to end debate under Senate Rule 6.09 and then voted to pass House Bill 4. The Senate later approved a privileged motion to adjourn until 3 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26, and asked that a person be removed from the gallery.
