The 2025 Elmwood Elementary School Walk-A-Thon took place Friday, Oct. 3 — and what a perfect day for a stroll around the neighborhood!
Organized by Elmwood Parents and Teachers Together (PATT), the annual event raises money for assemblies, classroom celebrations, student-parent events, extra classroom supplies — “all of the ‘extra things’ that make our school special,” said Assistant Principal Stephanie Hagins.
This year’s walk-a-thon raised over $10,000 in donations! Students who donated $5 received a hot dog lunch, which PATT volunteers handed out to the young donors as they headed into the cafeteria. For larger donations students could earn a chance for a pizza party with friends and even the opportunity to be chosen as Principal for a Day!
The walk around the neighborhood also featured fun themes at each corner, where students were greeted by parents who operated bubble machines, broke out some awesome dance music, dressed as superheroes and sprayed lots of Silly String!
