The Oak Park Village Board met Oct. 14, 2025. Trustees approved routine consent items and several energy and licensing contracts, accepted a police‑oversight consultant report while debating whether to fund a DEI analyst position, received two competing fire‑department staffing studies that prompted a wide budget discussion about hiring 6–9 firefighters and facilities, and debated enforcement practice for the village’s gas‑leaf‑blower ban amid concerns about ICE targeting of landscaping workers.
