The City of McAllen will hosted a press conference unlike any other, complete with music, pumpkin spice coffee, and seasonal sweets to announce its fall arts programming and highlight a breakthrough in arts
funding for the Rio Grande Valley. The event will also unveil exciting program details to include:
• Fiesta de Palmas – the region’s premier fall festival
• Symphony in the Park @ Sunset Live
• Valley Symphony Orchestra’s Symphony Series
• Broadway Series at the McAllen Performing Arts Center
Additionally, McAllen, along with several regional arts organizations, recently received significant grant funding from the Texas Commission on the Arts, a milestone achievement for a region that has historically been underfunded.
City of McAllen leaders, Arts partners & grant recipients, State Representatives Confirmed Texas Commission on the Arts grant recipients include:
• Performing Arts Center – $15,000 (Arts Create) & $189,796 (Cultural District Project: MXLAN)
• McAllen Public Library – $850 (Performance Support: Elizabeth Kahura, 10/25/25)
• International Museum of Art & Science – $23,000 (multiple projects)
• South Texas Symphony Association – $19,776 (multiple projects)
• ToGive International – $39,321 (Cultural District Project: McAllen Creative Incubator)
