10. Fire Services is requesting Board approval of a Memorandum of Understanding between Newton County Fire Services and the Newton County School System regarding Fire Safety Education. There is no cost or match required. Presenter: Chief Royce Turner, Newton County Fire Services (0:11:32)
11. Fire Services is requesting Board approval to establish a Life Vest Loaner Program at Newton Factory Shoals Park. This program will allow distribution of loaner life vests to visitors of the park and for storage (to install kiosks). The goal is to expand this program to Lake Varner and to the Yellow River in Porterdale. Cost: $5,500.00. Funding Source: Walmart Grant (funds have already been awarded). There is no match required. 12. Fire Services is requesting Board approval for agreement with Pearson VUE. This is an agreement between Newton County Fire Services and Pearson VUE to be an authorized testing center to provide National Registry EMT and Advanced EMT certification testing to employees.
