The Newport News Planning Commission held its Aug. 20, 2025 meeting, heard staff presentations and public questions on two special-exception requests for narrow, nonconforming lots and voted unanimously to forward both applications to the Board of Zoning Appeals for final consideration; staff also reported recent City Council rezonings and committee changes to lot-size rules for ice vending machines.
