The Bexley Tree and Public Gardens Commission met Sept. 17, 2025. The commission approved a revised landscape plan for an expanded private property project with conditions to protect two large on‑site trees and to install screening. Commissioners reviewed a separate case in which two large trees at 81 North Drexel were removed after an arborist and contractor found root damage; the commission authorized its landscape consultant to approve replacement tree species, size and locations and asked staff to push for timely planting. The meeting also included volunteer reports (Bexley Bloomers and community gardens), two ceremonial proclamations honoring a Ferry Village ambassador and longtime commission chair Susan Quintenz, and a discussion of the fall tree‑giveaway program.
