Town of Cumberland held a joint workshop (Planning Board + Comprehensive Plan Committee) followed by a Town Council meeting on Oct. 27, 2025. The workshop focused on LD 1829 (state growth-management and housing density law), its timeline, key provisions (ADUs, reduced parking requirements, minimum dwelling units per lot, affordable-housing density bonuses) and local scenarios (Tuttle Road corridor, growth-area maps, conservation subdivisions). The Council meeting included a police briefing on existing "extreme risk protection orders" (yellow-flag) and a proposed red-flag law (LD 1387), routine approvals (minutes, shellfish licenses, vehicle/auto-recycling permits), authorization for a Prince Memorial Library grant application to digitize 17th–18th century North Yarmouth records, adoption of the MMA general assistance ordinance, acceptance of a subdivision road (Cortland Court) as a public way, and several administrative items.
