The Lakeside Union School District board heard a presentation from Lemoncrest Elementary about academic, social-emotional and safety goals and challenges, including special-education needs, attendance and campus improvement plans. The board recognized school bus drivers for accident-free service and accepted a yearlong partnership with Feeding San Diego to provide meals to families. Trustees discussed expanding career and technical education (CTE) offerings, agreed to form a career-readiness committee with the chamber and CTE partners, and reviewed district programs such as Encore and a new report card rollout. The board adopted several resolutions including recognition of OCD Awareness Month and determinations on instructional materials and Red Ribbon Week.
