At a brief meeting of the Elkhart Police Merit Commission, commissioners approved the agenda and minutes, voted to untable and adopt a charging letter setting a two-day disciplinary hearing for Sergeant Michael Van Schaik, and were notified that two patrolmen completed their second year of service and were moved from second-class to first-class status.
